Wedding at The Mermaid Mountain Inn {Topanga Canyon}

Our most recent wedding, with Wei and Heidi, was actually an elopement. Set within the lush hills of Topanga Canyon at the Mermaid Mountain Inn, this elopement had originally been set to take place at a nearby courthouse but the groom decided he wanted to surprise his bride instead. He wanted to bring her something more intimate, colorful, placed within nature and involving the people they both love and care about most. So he booked The Mermaid Mountain Inn, invited Read More

DIY Photo booth to Celebrate the Holiday {Happy Easter}

  I hope everyone is having a fantastic Easter Sunday. This will be my only work for the day, before I run back into the arms of my family. I’m sure you have plans for dinner or a party of sorts so I thought I would share a fun photographic DIY tip… It’s always important to document family and friends on these occasions since everyone is usually dressed their best, feeling good and let’s face it, it’s rare (at least Read More

Welcome to the World Georgie Rose {jcp family portraits}

Georgie Rose was approximately one month old when I shot her portraits but still super tiny. She’s the second sibling in the family now, I documented her brother a few years before her. For this round of portraits, her mother had one request, “her hair!… I love it and want to document it at this stage.” It did have a life of it’s own, taking on a kind of hipster peak or fro hawk. Because I’ll be seeing them again Read More

The Halls {jcp family portraits}

I had the pleasure of shooting this family just before the Christmas holiday began. They were a new family for me and we had a blast together. Due to the remarkably dry and hot winter season, that California continues to have, we were able to have our shoot at the beach- complete with bare feet and summer dresses! (It’s a rough life). As you may know, I prefer to bring my families outdoors and watch them play, interact, and love Read More

Henri {jcp Family Portraits}

Meet Henri!… Henri is six months old, loves owls, binkys, his toes, various yoga poses and is always in search for the next good belly laugh. His parents are Wendy from Mississippi and Andre, Louisiana. They moved to Los Angeles for love, culture and opportunity. I’ve known them for over ten years now and have been privileged with documenting many of their precious moments along the way. I shot their wedding in New Orleans, their headshots, pet-shots, commercial shots for Wendy’s biz, Read More

Elopement at Little Dume, Malibu-

Meet Rajpal and Ryan. They’ve been together for seven years, engaged for two and recently decided to get eloped! No big crowds, no fuss, no crazy conundrums. Just he, she and a priest, alone on the breathtaking shores of “Little Dune,” a private beach and local surf spot in Malibu. Just south of Big Dume, it’s small in size, surrounded by cliffs  and only accessible by an unmarked trail. It worked as the perfect California setting for this intimate elopement. By keeping the Read More

Kendall and Jayden {jcp Family Portraits}

I am absolutely in love with these girls! With their fiery red hair, gentle spirits and hot pink pants, who wouldn’t love em! Jayden is the eldest and I’ve had the pleasure of working with her for a few years now. Kendall is the newest addition to the family and this was her first shoot. She was a pro though and of course she was able to rely on big sis for any tips of the trade. Our location for Read More

Meet the Twins Guillermo and Inez {jcp Family Portraits}

Last week, I had the most adorable set of twins come into my studio, complete with big blue eyes, chubby cheeks and a whole lot of personality. They were all of three months old and I instantly fell in love. I’ve known their dads for a little while now but this was our first shoot together. We had a blast. Everyone was amazing. The twins were natural born models and their dads were extremely patient… Sure we took some breaks Read More

1 Weekend, 2 Festivals and a Bucket of Awesome Sauce {The #SOROFestival & @BABCTour}

  Yep, it was a busy weekend and we didn’t want to miss out on any of it so we divided up the team and were able to enjoy both festivals at once. The team was spread out from Woodland Hills to Beverlywood, showcasing our wedding packages as well as our family portraits. It was an action-packed weekend (no doubt) but we loved every minute of it. In Beverlywood we attended the “SORO Festival,” celebrating all things South Robertson. In a Read More
